Some great teams in this one that could do well in the B, especially some outstate teams. It will be interesting to see how it all shakes out....Here we go: 1st Round: Ragin Hawks vs. Buster's Bar/Hartle Farms. Don't know a lot about either team, but have some nice reports on the Ragin's. Busters has the hometown factor, but I am going with the Ragin's in this one, 13-8. Stealth Bombers/GLM vs. Basher's. Stealth have had an up and down season, I hear it is the coaching. After a nice run in Mound, I jumped on the bandwagon in June, only to be disappointed. Basher's had a nice run last weekend at C state south and look to get going in this one. With it being a 6:00 game, I'm sure the MP3 player/Sun glasses will be in full effect! I like the Basher's in this one, 15-7. Salscheider/Hanson/Miken vs. Team Fastcard. Which team will Benny bring to Rochester? The one who can mash with the best of them (i.e Brainerd) or one that scores 1 run in 5 innings. For his coaching sake and in a contract year, he better hope for the Brainerd team. Team fastcard brings a solid line-up that should be overlooked. I like Salscheider to get rolling in this one, 16-10. Eitzen State Bank vs. Iowa Drainage/Monster Energy. ESB has had a disappointing year, but will they turn it up a couple of gears for post season? Reports from Puck 34 is that a certain guy is having issues striking out...Interesting to see if he can get past the Carlos Gomez syndrome. I like ESB to get rolling in this one, 17-6. No strike outs in this one. Hassan Sand and Gravel vs. Poorboyz. No clue on Poorboyz, but know that Hassan has a nice squad. They will win this one, 15-10. Play it Loud vs. ?????? Play it Loud moves on, 7-0. Guaranteed lock, place your bets on this one. Sioux Nation vs. KC Titans. Sioux Nation brings a State C South Championship with them to Rochester. Reports were they had solid pitching and some miraculous centerfield play, something they have been lacking for a few years. Cory&& has put this team over the edge. However, a poor draw gets them against one of the tournament favorites, KC Titans. These guys bring a solid line-up from top to bottom, and even with Cory in the line-up, they can't stop these guys. Remember the Titans in this one, 17-15. BBS/Josh Fjerstad vs. Death Grip/Reapers. BBS will get rolling in this one early and win it, 14-8. AJ's Construction vs. Beavers. Not sure who the Beavers are, but AJ Construction's motivation line will be, "Nothing better than baggin some beaver on a Friday night." AJ's in this one, 17-12. Animal House/Coulee vs. Cruzin Chubby's. I was on the Cruizin Chubby's bandwagon, but haven't seen much out of them this year. Animal House/Coulee has had some nice squads and a decent year. I like them in this one, 12-9. Zoo Bar vs. Titan/Sportsbleachers. Zoo Bar is having a nice year and had some nice showings as one of the best in South Dakota this year. I like them to havve a great tournament and win this one, 19-11. MN Hitmen vs. Southpark/KJ Construction. MN Hitmen still missing Brice big time. They win a close one though, 10-7. Fleet Feet vs. Lucky's 13/MN Jazz. Fleet Feet is a nice squad, but Lucky's 13/MN Jazz will be "full strength, always were!" Big Hammer is back just when they need the big man. He will hit some tape measure shots, Jazz win it, 18-15. Round 2: Miken/Tanel/Dave's vs. Ragin Hawks. Dave's, if you want to win, please don't let Composite in the field. I like Dave's to get rolling, 18-9. Salscheider over Basher's, 12-6. Eitzen State Bank over Hassan, 16-13. DLB/Shirts and Logos vs. Play it Loud. DLB may be the team to beat, I like them to have a long tournament, 21-10. KC Titans over BBS/Josh Fjerstad, 18-7. AJ's Construction over Animal House, 15-11. Zoo Bar over MN Hitmen, 21-6. ISH/Miken vs. Lucky's 13/Jazz. ISH/Miken is also one of the teams to beat. They can mash it! Even Hammer isn't enough against these guys, I like ISH, 19-13. Quaterfinals: Tanel/Miken/Dave's vs. Salcheider. Salscheider gives them a good run, but too much speed and hitting, dave's 16-11. ESB vs. DLB. ESB runs into a tough match-up in this one. I like DLB, 17-13. KC Titans vs. AJ Construction. KC Titans keep it rolling, 16-10. ISH/Miken vs. Zoo Bar. My 3rd favorite South Dakota team puts up a great battle, but not enough, ISH wins it, 21-19. Semi-Finals: Tanel/Miken/Dave's vs. DLB. Can Tanel pull it off? They put up a good battle, but fall a bit short, 18-13. KC Titans vs. ISH/Miken. Tough one to pick, but going to with ISH in a tight one, 20-18. Undefeated: DLB vs. ISH/Miken. Battle of two teams with snappy jerseys....dream match-up for Pfeff and the rest of WSL. DLB wins this one, 17-14. Championship: Ish/Miken comes back up to the Championship after beating KC Titans in the loser's bracket final. They keep the momentum going and knock off DLB in game one, 17-12. Game 2 is a different story. ISH runs out of gas, DLB puts the pedal to the medal, and wins it, 21-12. Final Order of Finish: 1) DLB/Shirts and Logos 2) ISH/Miken 3) KC Titan 4) Tanel/Miken/Dave's Sport Shop 5/6) Eitzen State Bank and Zoo Bar |
