Tournament #5.....Breaking down the Albertville Brackets
First off, sorry to the Sal's tourney and not breaking it down.  I didn't get teh brackets in time before I headed out of town.  Proud to see 2 of my favortie's, LaserBax and HCCLTM have good weekends.  Big shout out to HCCLTM for playing up and trying to better themselves.  Wish both of thses teams were playing in Friendly City Days.

Well, this is an interesting weekend in Albertville...Will Redwood continue their dominanace, especially without CC and Tharaldson's not in this one?  Will Viessman/BBS/Miken and Homes Unlimited finally get past a 4-5th place finish?  Will MN Easton walk to the championship or get upset early?  Will J&H get it going again after a couple of tough weekends at the BOP and 6's Wild?  many questions to be answered this weekend!  Here we go....

Round One:

Sellox vs. Fun to Watch:
Sellox seems to beat up on these type of teams and this one will be no different.  Kamala will throw his 87 foot arc and Fun to Watch won't be so fun.  This one may get ugly early and Sellox looks to get back to ASA after a disappointing 1-2 weekend at the Bop.  I like Sellox in this one, 24-4.

Geez/All-American Restoration vs. MN Mission:
A good first round match-up. Geez/AAR looks to get rolling and haven't quite hit their groove yet.  It appears they will have most of their team there this weekend, plus the Mayor of Albertville, Rod Bombs, will be in full attendance and looking to show why he is the crowd favorite, both on and off the field.  MN Mission brings in a strong roster, including winning Sal's WSL C event last weekend.  This will be a close one, back and forth, but the hometown mayor will hit a walk-off in the bottom of the 7th.  I like AAR winning, 19-18.

Hassan vs. Floyd's:
Floyd's is off to a good start this year, with a 4th place finish in the B'ville earlybird....I am on their bandwagon right now until they prove otherwise.  Hassan comes in with a decent weekend in Sal's, but aren't going full throttle yet.  I like Floyd's in this one, mild upset, 16-14.

Vanhouse/Players vs. Blue Line/Blondie's:
I really like both of these teams as well to knock some teams off during the weekend.  I have heard good reports on Blue Line, but yet to see them play.  Vanhouse might have the bus legs from the trip down, so I gotta go with Blue Line/Blondies, 15-11.

Trails/Miken vs. MN Easton:
Great draw for MN Easton, however don't look past this Trails team.  They upset them in the 2nnd round last year and they will push them to the limit.  However, OO's will be putting on the spikes for MN Easton on Friday night only before he heads up for the I94 classic.  Like MN Easton in this one, but closer than people may think, 17-12.

Coors Light vs. Prestige:
Never heard of Prestige, so gotta go with Coors Light to get back to their winning ways, 11-7.

Outpost vs. Birdtown:
Another interesting first round match-up.  I haven't seen Birdtown yet, but hear good things about these guys.  Outpost is off to a solid start, including their big championship in teh B/C qualifier at the Bop.  These guys know how to win and they will continue in this one, 18-14.

AAB vs. GMHI/Stevo's:
Never heard of AAB, so I'm going with GMHI/Stevo's, 16-8.

Round 2:
Sellox vs. Redwood:
Great round 2 match-up.  Too bad these guys have to play so early.  Sellox is coming off a big round one win and have the bats going.  All Redwood has done this year is won the B'ville Qualifier, won the Corky's Earlybird, and were double dipped for the championship by CC in Red Wing.  Still the #1 team in my mind right now.  Sellox gives these guys a run to the end, but the hitting can't be stopped from redwood.  I like Redwood in this one, 22-18.

Geez/All-American Restoration/Miken vs. Viessman/BBS/Miken:
Another great round 2 match-up, sad to see these guys playing so early.  AAR looks to redeem themselves after an ugly loss to these guys down in Red Wing.  Look for AAR to jump to an early lead, but like Viessman fashion, they will have a big 4th or 5th inning and pull this one out, 20-16.

McAlpine's/BW3 vs. Floyd's:
My Floyd's guys will give these guys a run, but apparently a big pick-up by McAlpines will put them over the edge in this one...i like McAlpine's, 17-13.

J&H Wall vs. Blue Line/Blondies:
Good battle of USSSA teams in those one, but I see J&H getting back to their winning ways this weekend.  I see J&H winning this one, 16-12.

Chatters/Carefree vs. MN Easton:
This one is ugly early, MN Easton wins it big, 18-5.

Rollings Group vs. Coors Light:
Coors Light is "rolls" in this one, 13-8.

Chatters/Moonsports vs. Outpost:
Chatters...don't have nay report on thse guys yet, so will have to check them out this weekend.  Outpost will continue their winning ways, 17-7.

Homes Unlimited vs. GMHI/Steveo's:
These 2 teams haven't played since the 2004 Pan O Prog tournament when Homes Unlimited was also known as the Diamond Dawgs.  with the rain, the DD's team All-State/Stevo's 2-1 in 5 innings of a one pitch, but Stevo's came back through the loser's bracket to win to double dip and win the championship.  Homes Unlimited looks to get back to their winning ways and they will get the bats going in this one.  Broken Finger guy is back in the line-up for HU and that may be the difference.  Stevo's will be ready to go as well, but I like HU winning this one, 19-15.

Quarterfinals:
Redwood over Viessman/BBS, 25-21

J&H Wall over McAlpine's, 19-16

MN Easton over Coors Light, 17-4

Homes Unlimited over Outpost, 20-18

Semi Finals:
Redwood over J&H, 22-13

MN Easton over HU, 16-12

Finals:
Redwood over MN Easton, 26-11

Championship:
Redwood over J&H, 21-14

Final Order of finish:

1) Redwood
2) J&H Wall
3) MN Easton
4) Homes Unlimited
5/6) Viessman/BBS/Miken
     McAlpine's/BW3
